Clive Scarff
was born in Toronto, Canada, and attended high school in Melbourne, Australia.
It was in Australia that he apprenticed under
Australia's famous Ray Wright at Woodlands Golf Club.
After
high school Clive returned to Toronto to study Radio and Television. Ten
years in that industry saw him working in a variety of capacities on a number of
interesting projects, from commercials to award shows, from fishing shows to the
Olympics. It was ultimately the experience of writing and producing athlete profiles
for CTV's Olympic coverage that motivated Clive to test his mettle in pursuit of
a career in golf.
After qualifying for the
Canada's PGA on his first attempt, for six years Clive was Assistant
Professional under Tim
Tait at Vancouver's storied Marine Drive Golf Club. This was followed
by three years as Teaching Professional at
the Musqueam Golf Academy, also in Vancouver. Clive has since opened a
"retreat" golf school on Bowen
Island, a gulf island just 20 scenic minutes by ferry from Vancouver, BC.
A resident of Bowen Island, Clive happily
divides his time between teaching golf, and writing. Golf is often
featured in Clive's writing... aside from Hit Down Dammit! he has written
a pilot for a sitcom entitled "Divots", a weekly human drama entitled
"Mystic Links", and a feature length screenplay called "Senior
Tour". (For more info on Clive's writing

When a CPGA Professional, Clive attained Level III
Teaching Certification, Colbert/Ballard Teaching Certification, and audited the
David Leadbetter Teaching Academy.
